Torque and drag and soft string software description

The Torque and Drag and Soft String module enables a quick calculation of hook loads and torque at surface while tripping in or out of the hole, drilling (rotary or sliding mode) or rotating off bottom. The multiple charts enable a quick comparision with actual field data to monitor well bore conditions and calibrate the coefficient of friction in the cased and open hole.

Normalized contact forces are also provided all along the string to identify possible tight spots that deserve greater attention.

This module provides the first level of basic engineering for Torque & Drag.

Soft string versus Stiff String contains an explainantion of the differences between a soft and stiff-string torque and drag model.
