Local dogleg software description

The Local Dogleg module provides a way to reconstruct the well path that was drilled between successive surveys, computing inclination and azimuth at intermediate depths using a unique step-by-step process.

The software takes into account:

  • Field data (WOB)
  • Geological information (UCS, formation dip and strike)
  • Steering sheet (Logs of toolface orientation and activation level)
  • Mud data (SG)
  • Bit and BHA description

It enables reproducing the Pattern Slide/Rotate of a motor BHA, as well as tortuosity resulting from any other type of BHA.
