Casing Design is the specification of different tubular used during well construction. In its simplest form, each casing needs only an outer and inner diameter, a shoe depth and material grade however the coupling between each element of the casing phase must also be analyzed.

The appropriate selection of casing prevents collapse of the borehole during drilling as well as hydraulically isolating the wellbore fluids from the subsurface formations and formation fluids.
