Using a combination of two DrillScan Drilling Software Solutions, Local Dogleg and Casing Deformation & Standoff, the Casing Centralisation Placement service is able to determine the standoff and cement sheet thickness along critical intervals of the well architecture. This service can be delivered at well engineering stage and in real-time at section TD for tunning the casing centralisation programme. Post-cementing job analysis is likely available.
DrillScan’s local doglegs process assess’ local doglegs between spaced survey stations.
It computes inclination and azimuth at intermediate depths using a unique step-by-step process.
The software takes into account field data (WOB), geological information (UCS, formation dip and strike), steering sheet (Toolface orientation and activation level logs), caliper logs and mud data. The software enables reproducing the Slide/Rotate Pattern of a Motor BHA, as well as tortuosity resulting from any other type of BHA.
Drillscan’s Casing Deformation and Standoff solution is able to model the deflection of a given casing string within the wellbore, computing the casing standoff from TD to surface even in a multi-string configuration. The standoff is computed using a unique stiff-string model using an algorithm to compute the deflection of the centralised casing in an iterative process. Recent developments model the effect of restoring force of bow-spring centralizers attached to the casing. This analysis may highlight undesired tight spots and locations of un-centered casing that may need additional centralization to achieve the required cement sheet barrier and annulus seal-off.
